Planning & Consenting
How the South Humber Bank Energy Centre is progressing through the planning system, the studies that underpin the application and how local communities are being consulted.
The Consenting Journey
Bringing a major energy facility to the South Humber Bank requires a rigorous, evidence-based process that meets national planning policy and addresses local concerns.
Stage 01
Scoping & Screening
The project team works with the local planning authority and consultees to establish the scope of environmental assessments needed, including the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening and scoping opinions.
Stage 02
Detailed Studies
Specialist consultants carry out baseline surveys covering ecology, air quality, noise, landscape, flood risk, transport, heritage and socio-economics to inform the design and identify necessary mitigation.
Stage 03
Application & Determination
A comprehensive planning application and Environmental Statement are submitted. Consultees and members of the public are invited to comment before a decision is taken by the relevant authority.
