Acknowledging the people and organisations who have contributed to the South Humber Bank Energy Centre Project
Project Team
The delivery of the South Humber Bank Energy Centre relies on the expertise and dedication of a broad coalition of professionals across engineering, planning, environmental science and community engagement.
Lead Developer
South Humber Bank Power Ltd has led the development of the Energy Centre Project since its inception, coordinating feasibility studies, stakeholder consultations and the submission of both the Development Consent Order and the associated planning applications. The development team brings decades of combined experience in major energy infrastructure across the United Kingdom.

Technical Consultants
Independent engineering consultants provided detailed assessments of the proposed generating plant, grid connection requirements and construction methodology, ensuring compliance with national standards and good industry practice.
Environmental Advisors
Specialist environmental teams undertook baseline surveys covering air quality, ecology, flood risk and landscape. Their rigorous assessment informed the Environmental Statement and the mitigation measures embedded in the project design.
Legal Counsel
Planning and energy law advisors guided the project through the complex regulatory landscape, preparing the Development Consent Order application and the associated planning submissions to North East Lincolnshire Council.
Consultation and Community
Meaningful engagement with local residents and stakeholders has been central to the development of the project.
Community Engagement
Throughout the pre-application phase, we held a series of public exhibitions and drop-in sessions in Immingham and the surrounding communities. These events gave local people the opportunity to review the proposals, ask questions and share their views. Feedback received during consultation has directly shaped the project design and the range of community benefits being offered.
- Two rounds of formal public consultation
- Engagement with local parish councils and ward councillors
- Partnerships with schools and colleges in North East Lincolnshire
- Ongoing liaison with residents during the consenting process

Technology and Partners
The Energy Centre benefits from proven technology and world-class supply-chain partners.

Technology Providers
The proposed generating plant draws on internationally recognised combined-cycle gas turbine technology selected for its high electrical efficiency, rapid start capability and suitability for complementing intermittent renewable generation on the National Grid. Our technology partners have supplied and commissioned similar plant at sites across Europe and have supported the technical studies underpinning the Environmental Statement.

National Grid
National Grid Electricity System Operator and the local Distribution Network Operator provided essential data on grid capacity and connection constraints, informing the preferred connection strategy.
Visualisation and Documentation
Photographers and visualisation artists produced accurate landscape and townscape representations for the Environmental Statement and public consultation materials, helping people understand the scale and appearance of the proposed development.
